About Us

Established in 1978 by Brian Aird, The Aird Group (TAG™) is one of the premier greeting card and giftware import and distribution companies in the Australian card and gift industry. After more than 30 years of sustained growth and development, TAG™ has a well earned reputation as an innovative market leader.

We operate two divisions, National and International. The National division is responsible for importing, wholesaling and distributing product to over 2000 major and independent retailers throughout Australia. TAG™ International is responsible for developing in-house brands that are manufactured and exported globally through distribution and licensing arrangements.

Since 2005, TAG™ International has successfully launched three brands developed at our Adelaide headquarters; kimmidoll™, kimmidoll™ junior and Ukido Ninja Warriors®. These brands have resonated with consumers the world over and their success has resulted in a wide range of gift, card, stationery, fashion accessory and homeware products being developed for national and international distribution. International licence agreements have driven further product expansion with niche products such as bed linen and pyjamas also produced for sale in other countries. TAG™ branded products is available for sale in more than 50 countries.

On the 12th October 2012, TAG became a signatory in the Australian Packaging Covenant (APC). The APC is an agreement between companies in supply chains and all levels of Government to reduce the environmental impacts of packaging by improving packaging design, changing/minimising materials used and produce higher recycling rates whilst lowering occurrence of litter. The on-flow effect of this smarter packaging can be realised in less overall energy consumption and a cleaner environment. It is our ethical obligation to reduce, reuse and recycle where possible.

The Covenant’s key objectives are:

1.   Design – Optimise packaging to achieve resource efficiency and reduce environmental impact whilst maintaining product quality and safety

2.   Recycling – Improved recovery / recycling of packaging and to use packaging materials that already have a recycled content

3.   Product Stewardship – Demonstrate commitment of all signatories.
